The Last Viewer

In a forgotten, dust-covered movie theater, Arthur prepares for a final screening. With the cinema slated for demolition, he threads the last remaining 35mm reel into a creaky projector and sits alone in the empty auditorium. As the beam of light cuts through the darkness, the black-and-white footage displays a silhouette standing on a desolate stage.

Arthur’s calm turns to unease as the figure on screen mirrors his every movement in real time. Panicked, he rushes to the projection room to cut the power, but the machine continues to hum, locked in a cycle of its own. When he steps back out into the aisle, the screen goes dark—and a single spotlight illuminates a chair waiting on the stage, calling the last viewer to take his place.
